The history of sky diving started with the successful jump of Andre-Jacques Garnerin in 1797. After that, many years have passed and this has become an international sport which is now recognized worldwide.

Exiting from an aircraft and making your way back to the earth again with the help of parachute is called sky diving. This adventure sport is now done in many places of the world. Generally the diver is deployed from a height from about one thousand to four thousand meters. If the diver makes the jump from less height, the parachute is opened immediately after the fall. At higher altitudes, the diver has the option of falling freely for a short period of time.

After the parachute is deployed, it takes about five to seven minutes to reach safe speeds at which one may fall. By the time the parachute opens, the diver drops down by about eight hundred meters. The parachute has toggles by which its direction can be controlled.

Many people make their first jump with their trainer. It is hard to do it alone if it is the first time. Deaths while parachuting are very rare. Although that does not mean that casualties are zero. Every year, parachuting takes lives. But the ratio is very low. In USA, it is about 100000:1. So I think you can understand that how less the number of casualties are.

Try out this sport; I think you will surely remember it for a lifetime.

Camping is one of the best ways of recreation for every age of people. It is not only informative but also refreshing. “Plan for the worse and hope for the best”, this old saying must be the base on which you must prepare the list for your camping trip. Always be prepared just in case something unexpected happens.

Creating a list of things required much in advance of the camp out, is a must as that may avoid the situation of things being left out. What you need will depend largely on what type of camping trip you’re planning. Go for some researching ahead of time about things like water availability, weather, etc. that will help you determine which items to pack.

Decide with whom you are camping. Make sure you get insurance information and health information before you do anything else. If someone is injured on the trip, the insurance information will make a huge difference in the care they receive. Health information is very important in planning the trip.3

Set up a first aid kit. Decide how long you will stay and figure out where you will be sleeping. Few items like matches, toilet paper, a flashlight and rain gear should be packed for every trip, regardless of whether you think you might need them or not. Other essential items include clothes, toiletries, rope, sleeping bags, duct tapes, tent, etc.

Pack an appropriate amount of food. Try not to pack too many perishable food items, like cheese, chicken, and milk. Snacks, crackers must be preferred. If you plan to cook on the camp you may also need things like camp stove, fuel charcoal, lighter fluid, firewood grill, etc.

Finally, you should consider what items will keep you comfortable and amused on your camping trip books, a radio, playing cards, your journal, art supplies, board games and musical instruments all add to a cozy domestic camping style. Gather all the things in the list and pack them in a small, lightweight bag. Do not over pack.

The Niagara Falls is the most powerful waterfalls in North America. These voluminous waterfalls are on the Niagara River, which drains Lake Erie into Lake Ontario and forms the international border between the Canadian province of Ontario and the U.S state of New York and forms the southern end of the Niagara George. We are aware of the presence and the scenic beauty of this falls but one never gives a thought of the history of the falls. Unlike all other things this falls also includes a certain story behind it. But as it is said the invention itself creates the magic and not story behind it.

The Niagara Falls was formed when glaciers receded at the end of the Wisconsin glaciations and water from the newly formed Great Lakes carved a path through the Niagara Escarpment en route to the Atlantic Ocean. These falls are very wide in nature. It is renowned both for its beauty and as a valuable source of hydroelectricity power. The enormous energy of Niagara Falls has long been recognized as a potential source of power. Niagara Falls has long been a source of inspiration for explorers, travelers, artists, authors, film makers, residents, and of course the visitor.

The Niagara Falls has been categorized by three names: American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and Canadian/Horseshoe Falls. American Falls between Prospect Point and Luna Island, Bridal Veil Falls between Luna Island and Goat Island, and Canadian/Horseshoe Falls between Goat Island and Table Rock. The tremendous volume of water never stops flowing; however the falling water and mist create ice formations along the banks of the falls and rivers. This can result in mounds of ice as thick as fifty feet. If the winter is cold enough, the ice will completely stretch across the river and from what is known as the ‘ice bridge’. Until 1912, visitors were allowed to actually walk on the Ice Bridge and view the falls from below. But somehow a mishap happened when the bridge broke down and took the lives of three visitors and thus a ban on setting out to bridge was levied.

Some Interesting Facts about THE NIAGARA FALLS:

. The flow of American Falls was stopped completely for several months in 1969. To set up some process for determining the feasibility of removing the large amount loose rocks from the base but finally it was not successful due to heavy expenses.

. The word ‘Niagara’ was derived from the Iroquois Indian word “Onguiaahra”.

Thus Niagara Falls is a wonderful creation of nature and a perfect example of scenic beauty and aesthetic beauty.

If you are planning a trip to Mexico, then there are few places you should visit. After all, how many times are you going to visit Mexico? Let me list out a few places that you should visit if you are in Mexico.

The first place to come will obviously be Mexico City. The capital of Mexico is one of the vibrant cities of the world indeed. It is also home to some of the ruins of the historic civilizations. The Garibaldi Plaza can go into competition with the Times Square any time. The Aztec canals are also worth a trip. And if you really want something more, then you can go and visit Frieda Kahlo’s studio.

Another place that comes to my mind when asked about Mexico is Merida. This can probably be stated as the cultural capital of the country. This city has narrow lanes, some of the best museums of the country and very broad plazas. You will also experience a great variety of architectural styles in this city. Spanish and Italian architectural styles are most commonly seen in this city.

A small town at the foothills of the mountains of Sierra de la Laguna, Todos los Santos is a must visit for you. This town, founded in 1724 has now become a huge sugarcane producing place. There are many historic buildings in this town. Also the church, museum, etc, are places to see in this city. There are beautiful beaches in Todos Santos. So it’s a combo trip for you if you visit this place.

Guanajuato is a UNESCO world heritage city. This city is nested in the Sierra de Guanajuato Mountains. The meaning of the name is ‘place of frogs’. Today, this place is a piece of beauty from the moment you enter it. The first thing you will have to notice is the three kilometer long stretch of the river flowing just beside the road. Once inside the city, it is better to walk and get lost in the alleys.

If you the kind of traveler who wants to travel to places with a difference, then Mexico is surely a place for you.

As we all know that travel agency is a part of retail business which sells products related travel and travel services to customers on behalf of suppliers like airlines, cruise lines, hotels, railways, sightseeing tours and package holidays that combine several products as travelling became an inevitable part of our life. With the development of commercial aviation, starting in the 1920s travel agencies became more commonplace. The British company Cox & Kings is sometimes said to be the oldest travel agency in the world but the modern travel agency first appeared in the second half of the 19th century.

But it isn’t possible always to call a customer service representative or even go to the travel agency’s office in that case we can check out package offers on travel agency’s websites. This facility is handy for the people who work odd hours, and those who are living in rural locations from where the nearest travel agency office is a fairly far drive. But before choosing any online travel agency we need to keep some points in mind.

First of all we have to know what is the specialty that the particular agency has? Is it a specialist in cruises or adventure tours or in particular countries, groups or in individual travel? As it is best to travel with the agencies which is experienced in that kind of travel which we want. Next we should check the fees that the agency fixed for a particular package and we must search for some other agency’s same package in cheaper rate. After this we must know the agency’s location so that we can know their time zone and agency’s hour. But if something goes wrong during travel? Like flight or train get cancelled or delayed due to bad weather, so we should discuss these things with the agency to know what we should do in that situation. Except this, we also should know that if some inconveniences occurred then the tickets would be refunded or not? If the tickets aren’t refundable then we shouldn’t plan our travelling with that agency.

Cruise lines, hotels often offer perks such as upgrades, free parking facility, and other deals so before planning we should check whether the agency have that special privileges if yes then we should take that advantage. Besides if we can travel on specific dates or avoid popular dates we can save money so we need to know whether that particular agency have that specialty or not? We should also check that if our holiday destination requires passport or special visa if we are not sure then we should discuss this with the agency. If we keep all these things in mind it will be very helpful in choosing an online travel agency.

In to day’s world where environmental issues have become everyone’s concern various concepts are coming up to provide solutions to all the environment related problems. Eco-tourism is a new concept that arose recently. In the year of 1980, the concept of Eco-tourism came into being. The concept of Eco-tourism is restricted to traveling to fragile pristine and usually protected areas that strive to be low impact and often small scale as an alternative to mass tourism.

The main purpose of ecotourism is to educate the traveler, providing fund for ecological conservation and also directly benefiting the economic development and political empowerment of local communities. Fundamentally Eco-tourism means making as little environmental impact as possible and helping to sustain the indigenous populace and thereby encouraging the preservation of wildlife and habitats when visiting a place. It focuses on local culture, wilderness adventures, volunteering personal growth and learning new ways to live on our vulnerable planet.

Eco-tourism facilities are constantly being developed by the professionals. The International Tourism society defines Eco-tourism as “responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well being of local people”. But there involves certain principles in maintaining Eco-tourism.

Some of the principles are:

* Building environmental and cultural awareness and respect.

* Provide positive experiences for both visitors and hosts.

* Provide direct financial benefits for conservation.

* Provide financial empowerment for local people.

* Support international human rights and labor agreements.

Thus, few principles are guide lined for sustaining Eco-tourism. It is a fastest growing market in the economy according to the World Tourism Organization with an annual growth rate of 5% worldwide. Thus Eco-tourism is successful for the cause for which it was introduced.

Our modern day life is so full of activities that some time we need to take a break from all this, otherwise this immense pressure of daily life will suck the life force out of our body. To avoid this we need to take breaks from our day to day life and need to re energize our body and mind for the life ahead. Traveling to some place gives us the opportunity to enjoy life. But everyone has his/her own motive for traveling; some travel for pleasure, relaxation, some for research, some for pilgrimage.

But in our busy schedule it’s difficult to make long holiday plans all the time, that’s why now people often think about the short holidays like traveling to a nearby destination during the weekends. Udayagiri is just like one of the above mentioned places. “Udaya” means rising and “giri” means rock or hill so Udayagiri means “Hill of sunrise”. Near 6k.m West in the district of Jajpur of Bhubaneswar in Orissa, the caves of Udayagiri are one of the earliest groups of Jain rock-cut shelters and are known worldwide. Udayagiri also has a unique place in history, for rock-cut architecture, art and religion.

It’s a hill, which consist of 18 caves, the largest and the most beautiful, Rani Gumpha, caves like Chota Hathi Gumpha, Jaya Vijaya Gumpha, Ganesh Gumpha, and many more and all these caves are very important historically. The city was the capital of Langula Gajapati, who was the chief of the Gajapatis of Orissa. In the year 1512, the town came under the rule of Krishna Deva Raya, the ruler of the Vijayanagar dynasty. During his reign the entire city was fortified with walls all around.

Coming down a flight of steps in front of Cave 17 of Udayagiri people will find another hill with caves named “Khandagiri” meaning “broken hills”. It has 15 caves and the most popular of them all is Ananta cave which depicts, carved figures of women, athletes, geese carrying flowers and, elephants. Khandagiri offers a splendid view of the Bhuvaneswar city. Traveling in Udayagiri is very easy as it has many ways of transportation, you have bus, auto, and state govt transportation along with private cars to enjoy each and every place, and its calmness attracts many people. So no doubt it is a great place to visit during weekends.
